205 Majlis representatives issued a statement on Sunday, voicing their readiness to carry out the commands of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei. In the statement, the Majlis deputies pledged to spare no efforts to thwart plots of the enemies. Congratulating the IR Leader on the holy month of Sha’ban, the statement read that the MPs have reviewed the past election developments and once again reaffirm their allegiance to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. “Wise leadership and vigilance of the grand Leader of the Islamic Revolution is the reminiscent of the Late Imam Khomeini and his path,” said the statement. “The guidelines of the IR Leader which restored tranquility and security to the society and provided the country’s intellectuals with a yardstick to mind their words was a move forward and helped forge unity among the Iranian people,” it said. “The government takes its legitimacy from Velayat-e Faqih (the supervision and leadership of a devout expert in Islamic issues over the country’s affairs),” pointed out the statement, adding that only the approval of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution would grant legitimacy to any elected president. Highlighting the significant role of Leadership Expert Assembly in connection with recent developments in the country, the statement said the assembly’s role once again proved how the architect of the Islamic Revolution late Imam Khomeini was prudent in designing the institution. “Once again, we reaffirm our commitment to the historical statement made by the grand Leader and declare our readiness to help materialize the cause of the Islamic Revolution,” concluded the statement.
