Iran refuted Western theory of government: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the June 12 presidential election refuted the Western theory of government.

“They have devised their own rules and criteria and view themselves as the judges… and even if a country holds 30 elections, based on their rules they will say that democracy is not being put in practice while they approve of the most dictatorial states,” he said inTehran at a meeting with Iranian ambassadors and diplomats based in Europe.

Ahmadinejad said that the Western powers have developed a model called liberal democracy which is dominated by three elements: money, political parties, and media outlets.

“People in this system do not have the right to make a choice outside factional alignments and if the three elements are taken away, there will be nothing left of liberal democracy,” he added.

After the recent Iranian presidential election, the principles of the Western theory for managing the world were put into question, and the election delivered a serious blow to the Westerners, and they are therefore very angry, he stated.
