'US plotting new coup in Venezuela'
JNN 02 Jan 2o11 : The appointment of an ambassador by the US “who was really discussing Venezuelan military loyalty and morale … is really a discussion of the potential of a new coup in Venezuela,” said Sara Flounders, Co-Director of International Action Center in New York.
In an interview with Press TV, Flounders noted that “Venezuela has been a victim of US coup d’état and attempted coups. President [Hugo] Chavez himself [was a victim] of a direct US sponsored coup in 2002.”
Tensions have flared up between the United States and Venezuela since August after US President Barack Obama nominated Larry Palmer as the US ambassador to Caracas.
However, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez insisted that Palmer was not welcomed after the diplomat leveled harsh criticism against Venezuela during his US Senate confirmation hearings months ago.
At the time, Palmer had claimed that morale is low in Venezuela’s military and also linked the government to leftist rebels in neighboring Colombia.
On Wednesday, the US revoked the visa of Venezuelan Ambassador to Washington Bernardo Alvarez.

Iran shoots down two spy Drone Planes in Gulf
JNN 02 Jan 2011 TEHRAN: Iran has shot down two unmanned western reconnaissance drone aircraft in the Gulf, a senior Revolutionary Guards commander told the semi-official Fars news agency on Sunday.
“Many spy planes and advanced planes of our enemies have been shot down (by our forces) … We have also shot down two spy planes in the Persian Gulf,” said commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh. “But it is the first time we are announcing it.”
He did not say when the hostile aircraft had been shot down, but described them as western drone reconnaissance aircraft.
Iran is at odds with major powers over its nuclear activities, which the United States and its allies suspect are intended to enable Iran to produce nuclear bombs. Iran denies the allegations and says it wants only to generate electricity.

Jundallah Chief Rigi nabbed in Pakistan
JNN 25 Dec 2o1o : ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has arrested Abdul Rauf Rigi, the new chief of outlawed terrorist group Jundallah, said an Iranian news agency.
According to the agency, Pakistani officials confirmed that Jundallah’s new chief has been arrested.
It should be mentioned here Rigi took charge of the terrorist outfit after his elder brother Abdul Malik was hanged in Iran. He was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crime, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.
On December 20, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on his counterpart Asif Ali Zardari to arrest “known” terrorists and extradite them to Iran.
Zardari assured the Iranian president that Pakistan would not withhold any help in uprooting terrorism.
The news agency did not disclose the location of Rigi’s arrest.

JNN 18 Dec 2010 :Dated 15th December 2010, the night of 10th Muharam 1432, a group of approximately 200 Shiites (105 of them are local adults, few from Indonesia, two from Myanmar, and the rest are from Pakistan and Iran, and children) gathered at a premise named after Imam Ali ibni Musa ar-Ridha (Hauzah Imam Ridha, situated in Seri Gombak, the State of Selangor, Malaysia).
The gathering was dedicated to Imam Hussein ibn Ali a.s in commemoration of his martyrdom in Karbala. Commencing at 8:00 pm local time, the event started with the congregational prayers of Maghrib and Isya’, and proceeded with the Ziyarat ‘Asyura and a brief account of the Karbala event.
This was then followed by a speech by Hujjatul Islam Mohsein Radmard of Iranian origin which was translated into Malay by Hujjatul Islam Haji Muhammad Kamil Zuhairi bin Abdul Aziz.The contents of the unfinished speech focused around the characters and attributes of the Muslim believers. At around 10:15 pm while the speech was going on, a group of people came in introducing themselves as enforcement officers from the office of the Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS). The officers called off the speech and started reading the search warrant justifying their raid on the premise.
The search warrant however was found to be faulty as it permits search on the premise numbered 11C, whereas the premise where the event took place is 9C. Some of the officers came into the premise with their shoes on. This invited unnecessary anger from some of the members of the congregation to which the officers acted upon and removed their shoes. To cool down the tense, the congregation chanted Salawat on Prophet Muhammad and his family.
The officers then requested the congregation to remain calm and silent while they proceeded with their search procedure. The identity cards and passports of all attendees were collected, together with some of the evidences of Shiite elements which include Turbah, Mafatihul Jinan, Quran, posters, banners, potraits, books and etc. Some of the attendees are lecturers, students, lawyers and government servants.
The attendees were later served with a notice which required them to be present at the Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS) at Shah Alam to be further investigated individually in private sessions. When attended the sessions, they were again served with notice requiring their presence at the Syariah Subordinate Court scheduled in March 2011.
Both Hujjatul Islam Mohsein Radmard and Hujjatul Islam Haji Muhammad Kamil Zuhairi bin Abdul Aziz were brought for investigation immediately after the raid which finished at around 2:00 am. They were later required to attend Shariah Court at Kuang at 10:00 am, on 16thDecember 2010 for their details to be taken down. Afterwards, they were released on bail pending for the Shariah criminal proceeding scheduled on 20th January 2011.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said the government had banned the Shi’ite teachings as it could mislead the people and contradict the Sunni teachings followed by Malaysians.
“The government disallows the spreading of this (Shi’ite) teaching, following several wrongful propogations which could stir the harmony of the Muslims in this country,” he said.
“If there are two sects in this country, it may lead to bloodshed because the Muslim society will have differences in religious opinion, like what has happened to Muslim societies in Pakistan and Iraq.
JAIS Director Datuk Muhammed Khusrin Munawi at the interviews conducted outside the premise while the raid was going on, said:
1. His office has investigated and followed the activities conducted here since last two years and has enough evidence to relate the group as Syiah before conducting the raid;
2. The raid was considered the biggest raid related to deviated teachings in Selangor;
3. The group shall be brought to their office for further investigation and thereafter be prosecuted. And his office believes that the teaching has been spread throughout other states as well;
4. The raid involves 200 people including foreigners suspected from Iran;
5. We will prosecute them under Section 12(c) (of Islamic Jurisdiction Administration Enactment of 1989) for their violation of the fatwa of the Mufti of Selangor, which decreed that (Shiisme) is deviant from the teaching of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah or from the true teaching of Islam;
6. Among them there are some who allow mutaah (contractual) marriage, a concept which entices some of them to practice shiisme;

7. Hajj is not compulsory for them; visiting Imam Hussein’s shrine is sufficient for them to get into heaven;
8. They can combine prayers at any time, zuhr and asr together, maghrib, isya’ and subh, without darurat or conditions like travelling 90 ‘marhalah’;
9. Lightening of ibadah is an attraction to their followers.
10. Some of them which are fanatic and believed that we are not Muslims and our blood it is ‘halal’ (permissible) for them;
11. It is a jihad if they could kill Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah (followers). For me, this make them the most dangerous deviants compared to other deviant teachings.
12. From the evidences and documents available to us, the group is the shia hardliners, and for me if we let them, it will threaten our national security.

JNN 18 Dec 2010 :Dated 15th December 2010, the night of 10th Muharam 1432, a group of approximately 200 Shiites (105 of them are local adults, few from Indonesia, two from Myanmar, and the rest are from Pakistan and Iran, and children) gathered at a premise named after Imam Ali ibni Musa ar-Ridha (Hauzah Imam Ridha, situated in Seri Gombak, the State of Selangor, Malaysia).
The gathering was dedicated to Imam Hussein ibn Ali a.s in commemoration of his martyrdom in Karbala. Commencing at 8:00 pm local time, the event started with the congregational prayers of Maghrib and Isya’, and proceeded with the Ziyarat ‘Asyura and a brief account of the Karbala event.
This was then followed by a speech by Hujjatul Islam Mohsein Radmard of Iranian origin which was translated into Malay by Hujjatul Islam Haji Muhammad Kamil Zuhairi bin Abdul Aziz.The contents of the unfinished speech focused around the characters and attributes of the Muslim believers. At around 10:15 pm while the speech was going on, a group of people came in introducing themselves as enforcement officers from the office of the Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS). The officers called off the speech and started reading the search warrant justifying their raid on the premise.
The search warrant however was found to be faulty as it permits search on the premise numbered 11C, whereas the premise where the event took place is 9C. Some of the officers came into the premise with their shoes on. This invited unnecessary anger from some of the members of the congregation to which the officers acted upon and removed their shoes. To cool down the tense, the congregation chanted Salawat on Prophet Muhammad and his family.
The officers then requested the congregation to remain calm and silent while they proceeded with their search procedure. The identity cards and passports of all attendees were collected, together with some of the evidences of Shiite elements which include Turbah, Mafatihul Jinan, Quran, posters, banners, potraits, books and etc. Some of the attendees are lecturers, students, lawyers and government servants.
The attendees were later served with a notice which required them to be present at the Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS) at Shah Alam to be further investigated individually in private sessions. When attended the sessions, they were again served with notice requiring their presence at the Syariah Subordinate Court scheduled in March 2011.
Both Hujjatul Islam Mohsein Radmard and Hujjatul Islam Haji Muhammad Kamil Zuhairi bin Abdul Aziz were brought for investigation immediately after the raid which finished at around 2:00 am. They were later required to attend Shariah Court at Kuang at 10:00 am, on 16thDecember 2010 for their details to be taken down. Afterwards, they were released on bail pending for the Shariah criminal proceeding scheduled on 20th January 2011.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said the government had banned the Shi’ite teachings as it could mislead the people and contradict the Sunni teachings followed by Malaysians.
“The government disallows the spreading of this (Shi’ite) teaching, following several wrongful propogations which could stir the harmony of the Muslims in this country,” he said.
“If there are two sects in this country, it may lead to bloodshed because the Muslim society will have differences in religious opinion, like what has happened to Muslim societies in Pakistan and Iraq.
JAIS Director Datuk Muhammed Khusrin Munawi at the interviews conducted outside the premise while the raid was going on, said:
1. His office has investigated and followed the activities conducted here since last two years and has enough evidence to relate the group as Syiah before conducting the raid;
2. The raid was considered the biggest raid related to deviated teachings in Selangor;
3. The group shall be brought to their office for further investigation and thereafter be prosecuted. And his office believes that the teaching has been spread throughout other states as well;
4. The raid involves 200 people including foreigners suspected from Iran;
5. We will prosecute them under Section 12(c) (of Islamic Jurisdiction Administration Enactment of 1989) for their violation of the fatwa of the Mufti of Selangor, which decreed that (Shiisme) is deviant from the teaching of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah or from the true teaching of Islam;
6. Among them there are some who allow mutaah (contractual) marriage, a concept which entices some of them to practice shiisme;

Sunni Muslims Commemorate Ashura Procession in Indian Province of Hamachal
JNN 18 Dec 2010 : NAHAN, Himachal, India -It is rare to find the Sunni community commemrating Ashura , while here in this town , Ashura is observed by exclusively Sunni Community, As there are no Shia Residents in this town.
Muharram is observed by the “Shia” Muslim community across the world in commemoration of the martyrdom of Prophet Mohammed’s grandson, Imam Hussain (pbuh) along with his family and followers, who were martyred in the Battle of Karbala in AD 680 ,but here in this town the day is observed by the “Sunni” community of Muslims which makes the day distinct with other parts of the country.
All Himachal Muslim welfare committee state Chief Naseem Mohammed Didan says the day is observed only by “Shia community all over the world, but it’s really worth appreciable and adoring that in his town, “Suni” Muslim observes Mohrram as a gesture towards the “Shia Muslims. As per previous year Practive, it is remarkable that Muharram is still observed in the same manner even after years and years of Independence.
It is learnt that the town established in 1621 has always set examples of communal harmony. The town did not witnessed communal clash in the history even not during the partition. The member of the Royal family and former MLA Kanwar Ajay Bhadur Singh says this unique tradition was started at the behest of Maharaja Shamsher Parkash, ex ruler of the princely state.
He also said that there is no “Shia community in the town. There are Hindus, Sunni Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities living in harmony and participates in each other’s commemorations and celebrations. Chief of Anjuman e Islamiya said, for this rare tradition credit goes to ex ruler of the princely state, who invited and brought persons from all section of the society and religion and envisaged perfect understanding between them which still prevails in the town.
There are no Shia residents in the town and No Imambargah , hall of mourning in the town so whole of the ceremony took place in the open spaces in streets.
On Friday rare Muharram was observed in the town, in which almost every family of “Sunni community participated in Tazia procession which started this afternoon from four mosques of the town, with the sun set the procession was ended at Jamma Masjid katcha tank.

JNN 10 Dec 2010 Hangu : A powerful car bomb explosion at the gate of the Shiite Run Hospital has killed at least 18 people and wounded several others in Pakistan’s troubled Pass Kalay area in Hangu which is located in the northwestern tribal belt.
A suicide bomber blew up a trailer packed with explosives at a northwest Pakistan hospital Friday, killing 11 people and apparently targeting Shiite Muslims in the third bombing & terrorism this week.
The suicide bomber detonated at the gate of a Shiite-run hospital on the outskirts of the northwestern town of Hangu, a flashpoint for sectarian violence that traditionally flares during the current holy month of Muharram.
“Eleven people were killed and 17 injured,” Hangu police spokesman Fazal Naeem told AFP.
“It was a tractor with a trailer a carrying 250 kilograms of explosives hidden underneath materials for construction work at the hospital,” he said.
The hospital is run by a private Shiite Muslim trust, which also operates a nearby Shiite mosque and seminary, local officials said.
The blast partially damaged the mosque, vehicles and houses, and gouged a large crater out of the ground, police said.
Two days ago a teenage suicide bomber killed 17 people at a busy market in the garrison town of Kohat, which neighbours Hangu and which has been another flash point for attacks on Pakistan’s minority Shiite community.

Suicide attack in Kohat kills 17 Shia Passengers
PESHAWAR: A teenage suicide bomber killed 17 people at a busy Pakistani bus terminal on Wednesday, the third attack in three days as the country stepped up security for the holy month of Muharram.
The bomber blew himself up in Kohat, home to at least half a million people and one of the main garrisons for the Pakistan military, in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“It was a suicide blast. The death toll has risen to 17,” Kohat police chief Dilawar Bangash told AFP, adding that 25 others were wounded, seven of them seriously.
Police said the bomber blew himself up at the door of a bus carrying passengers to the nearby tribal district of Orakzai, where Pakistan has encouraged displaced civilians to return after an anti-Taliban offensive.
“We have found the head and legs of the suicide bomber,” said Bangash. The bus terminal is in Tirah bazaar, the main market in the town.

Voicing doubt over the documents, Erdogan said, “That’s why we’re waiting to see what comes from WikiLeaks. Then we can evaluate it and give an opinion.”
“One should analyze why this happened, who did it and why, who is benefitting and who is being harmed,” said Atalay, who has ordered an investigation into the expositions.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has also expressed doubt about the recently released documents, obtained and published by the WikiLeaks website, saying the US administration “released” the material intentionally.
“The material was not leaked, but rather released in an organized way,” he said in reply to a question by a Press TV correspondent on Monday.
“The countries in the region are like friends and brothers, and these malicious acts will not affect their relations,” the Iranian president added
The alleged disclosure of classified documents on Iran by the whistleblower site of WikiLeaks indicates that the US is afraid of Tehran’s power and might and is seriously seeking to sow discord between Tehran and Muslim states, a senior Pakistani politician said.
“The reports by the WikiLeaks fully display that the US is fearful of Iran,” Former chief of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of the country’s Majlis-e-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmad said on Saturday.

If this would have been real leaks , American Govt would have up till now have there stance to attack that country , but as this time they cant afford to have another war front , so therefore this Documents Leak have to be from a person and country , which have to be Non Muslim , and from the Person and country which is an Ally , as they dont want to attack that country as this is in the game Plan .

The website has released thousands of reported United States diplomatic cables, leveling insult against some world statesmen, including Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“This is how we see it in a way when we look in the context of who is benefitting and who is being harmed,” Atalay said.
The releases have said that the respected Turkish leader lacks “vision” and “analytic depth” and reads “minimally.”
The premier has said that the credibility of the website itself is “questionable,” DPA reported.
English-language Turkish newspaper Today’s Zaman has said that the documents, which have been reported by US and European news outlets, provided “often unflattering assessments” of foreign leaders.
Voicing doubt over the documents, Erdogan said, “That’s why we’re waiting to see what comes from WikiLeaks. Then we can evaluate it and give an opinion.”
“One should analyze why this happened, who did it and why, who is benefitting and who is being harmed,” said Atalay, who has ordered an investigation into the expositions.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has also expressed doubt about the recently released documents, obtained and published by the WikiLeaks website, saying the US administration “released” the material intentionally.
“The material was not leaked, but rather released in an organized way,” he said in reply to a question by a Press TV correspondent on Monday.
“The countries in the region are like friends and brothers, and these malicious acts will not affect their relations,” the Iranian president added
The alleged disclosure of classified documents on Iran by the whistleblower site of WikiLeaks indicates that the US is afraid of Tehran’s power and might and is seriously seeking to sow discord between Tehran and Muslim states, a senior Pakistani politician said.
“The reports by the WikiLeaks fully display that the US is fearful of Iran,” Former chief of Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of the country’s Majlis-e-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmad said on Saturday.

He was going towards his office with his Nephew , in his personal car , when about six assilants , circled his car on three motorcylces , 2 assilants on each motorcycle came on his both sides of his car , while one pair came in front of his car to slow him down , firstly the Assilants riding on the Motorcylce infront of his car fired a shot , which came through the windscreen towards his nephew , but from which his nephew escaped luckily unhurt, at the same moment the assilants riding on the right side of his car fired multiple shots , with a close range , which were fatal for his life , and he could not resist to the bullet injuries , later he was taken to the Jinnah Hospital , where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased was involved in construction business, and was very active in Matters relating Shia Community , He has left behind A Widow and a 8 years Old Son .
His Namaz e Janaza was offered near his house on the Main Road of Mehmoodabad # 5. Dutch film maker : Israeli Minister Aerial Sharon Shot Dead Two Young Palestinian Kids in 1982
JNN 21 Nov 2010 : Dutch filmmaker George Sluizer declared that in 1982 he saw then Israeli war minister Ariel Sharon shooting Palestinian children from near the Sabra-Shatilla refugee camp, Beirut, while he was filming a documentary.
The accusation was first made in Volkskrant, a Dutch newspaper, during an interview to George Sluizer, who was promoting the screening of his most recent film about Israel in the International Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam.
According to Sluizer, who has made several documentaries about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he saw Sharon killing two Palestinian children with a pistol in 1982, near the refugee camp Sabra-Shatilla in Lebanon. Sharon was an Israeli minister of defense at that time.
“Sharon shot two children like you shoot rabbits, in front of my eyes,” he added.
Sluizer gave more details and reported hat the children were two or three years old and that Sharon shot them from a distance of 10 meters with a pistol. However, he could not specify in which month the event occurred, but he thought it was in November

“Our message to Saudi rulers is that they [should] separate their stance from Wahhabis,” he urged, warning Riyadh against confronting Shiism, which he described as the dominant faith in the Middle East.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi called on Saudi leaders to “reach out to Shias in Iran, Iraq and Lebanon and stand up against Zionists and the enemies of Islam.”
“It would be in your interest and for the good of Islam and the region that you separate your stance from the Wahhabis and avoid confrontation with Shias,” he reiterated.
He criticized the “ignorant” Wahhabi extremists for their “inhuman acts” and resorting to violence against Shias. “If your logic is strong, why do you avoid a debate for the fear of a response?” he questioned.
Wahhabism is an extremely intolerant interpretation of Islam practiced in Saudi Arabia, which gained momentum after the discovery of oil in the kingdom in 1938.

Pakistani Shia Clerics rejected deal with any Taliban group
A grand loya jirga of Shia clerics in which Turi & Bangash tribes held on Monday in headquarter of Kurram Agency in which more than five hundred tribal elders of two main tribes and six sub tribes particpated.In this loya jirga Shia tribal leaders rejected any possible deal or agrrement with any taliban group including haqani network for using the land of Turi & Bangash for terrorism.
Shia Tribal clerics in their speeches cleared that they are Anti Taliban and there Sponsors USA. They further told that this is the plan of USA and Occupied Forces that when they want to enter or occupy the land or locaility first they enter thier extremists agents like Al-Qaeda and Taliban, the best example is Iraq, Afghanistan and Waziristan where occupation and drone attacks are continued. Iraqi Main Shia Bloc Rejects Saudi Offer
National Alliance turns down Saudi monarch’s offer to host all-party talks to break Iraq’s political impasse.
he National Alliance, Iraq’s main Shia bloc, has turned down a Saudi offer to host all-party talks to resolve months of deadlock over forming a new Iraqi government.
The offer was turned down on Sunday after some politicians voiced fears over foreign interference. Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah had a day earlier volunteered to host the talks in November.
The National Alliance, a coalition of Shia blocs, including that of incumbent prime minister,
Nouri al-Maliki’s coalition, said that a deal in Baghdad was close after the highest court ordered parliament to resume sessions last week.
“Though we express our appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its concern about the situation in Iraq and its willingness to provide support, we would like to confirm Iraqi leaders are continuing their meetings to reach a national consensus,” a statement issued by the alliance, said.
According to a senior member of al-Maliki’s bloc, the Kurdish Alliance also supports this statement.
The Kurdish alliance has 57 seats in parliament and al-Maliki’s camp is working closely with them to form a coalition government.
The Kurdish bloc was not immediately available for comment.
A spokeswoman for the rival Iraqiya list, led by Iyad Allawi, the former prime minister, however, welcomed the Saudi monarch’s initiative.
“We ask all political blocs to welcome the initiative, preventing Iraq’s security situation from deteriorating” amid continued political deadlock, Maysoon al-Damluji, a prominent member of the bloc, said.

Lanan was arrested last April and placed under administrative detention and a heavy fine was imposed on her sister Tagrid on top of her detention.
Lanan was one of twenty Palestinian female captives freed in October 2009 in return for a two and a half minute video of Gilad Shalit in which he appeared to be fit and well both mentally and physically.

The suicide bomber blew himself up inside a popular cafe in the town of Balad Ruz, 45 miles (70 kilometers) northeast of Baghdad, said the town’s mayor, Mohammed Maaruf. An additional 65 people were injured, he said.
The neighborhood where the explosion occurred is home to many Faili Kurds, a small sect of ethnic Kurds following the Shia branch of Islam, and many of the dead were Shias.
Feyli Kurds are largely a Shiite community living in Baghdad and Iraq around Khanaqin and Mandili. There are an estimated 2-3 million Feylis living in Iraq.

“Special programmes organised by the centre had attracted around 1100 people to Islam this year so far. Most of the conversions took place in Ramadan, with 250 new Muslims, basically due to the spirit of the holy month,” Al Saeed said. He noted thousands of people come to the centre willingly to know about Islam. “The information on teachings and principles of Islam, provided in the books being gifted to thousands of truth-seekers, quench their thirst for the true religion,” he said.
Dar Al Ber Society has always been very keen to spread the peaceful message of Islam without any coercion since its establishment in Dubai 30 years ago.
“The branches and offices of the society in the emirates of Dubai, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah receive applications for conversion on a daily basis,” Saeed said.
The centre had distributed over 67,000 copies of the Holy Quran as well as 9,000 translated introductory books, audio cassettes and CDs on Islam in different languages, including Chinese, Russian, Tagalog, English, Urdu and others.
“The centre has further distributed more than 300,000 copies of Dar Al Ber editions of the Holy Quran to the masjids, Islamic centres and individuals inside the country and abroad this year,” Saeed said.

JNN 26.10.10 Women habitually brisk walking have a lower risk of developing breast cancer after they reach menopause, according to a new study.
Previous research has shown women who are active are at a lower risk of developing breast cancer than their calmer peers.
This is the first study on the effects of moderate exercise and in the consequence of whether or not less active females who start exercising can get similar results.
The study reported on 100,000 subjects who had reached postmenopausal period of their lives and followed their progress for a period of 20 years.
During this period, women told how active they were in their lives and the type of exercises they had.
A. Heather Eliassen and her team at Harvard reviewed data in the Archives of Internal Medicine and the many risk factors for breast cancer that women have no control on.
These included family history of the disease or the age at which they began menstruating, the researchers told Reuters Health.
The team believes physical activity “is one of the few breast cancer risk factors that women can do something about. And it’s never too late.”
Those women who had at least an hour of brisk walking every day, or the same amount of activity per day, were 15 percent less likely to develop breast cancer than those who walked less than one hour per week.
The group defined brisk walking as walking at about three to four miles per hour — a speed at which it is hard to keep a conversation while walking.
They also reported that even women who got no exercise before menopause but increased their activity afterwards are 10 percent less likely to develop breast cancer than those who didn’t.

Meanwhile, heavy contingents of police cordoned off the area and started investigations.

The Shi’ite bloc called Al-Wefaq on Saturday won all 18 seats it had contested, a one-seat gain from 2006 elections, making it again the largest force in Bahrain’s 40-member Council of Representatives. No candidate secured a majority in nine districts, setting the stage for runoffs Saturday. Turnout was 67 percent, with more than 300,000 ballots cast.
“We were having difficulties yesterday because lots of names were dropped [from the voter rolls],” said Khalil Al-Marzooq, a returning Al-Wefaq member of parliament, in an interview Sunday. “However, because of the massive participation, we managed to win.”
The vote in the Sunni-led kingdom — a strategic base for the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet — comes amid heightened tensions between the government and the Shi’ite majority.
On Thursday, 23 Shi’ite opposition members will go on trial for charges of plotting a coup. The men were arrested two months ago following weeks of escalating Shi’ite street riots. Human rights groups allege that hundreds more have been detained, deprived of due process, and in many cases tortured — claims the government vehemently denies. Authorities also shut down dozens of opposition websites, including Al-Wefaq’s.
Mr. Al-Marzooq said the crackdown was regrettable and that in addition to pursuing its priority of housing for low-income Shi’ites, Al-Wefaq would seek democratic reforms.
“We want more authority for the Council of Representatives — this is the main thing — and we are looking in the future to have a peaceful transition of power so that the prime minister is elected directly or indirectly from the people of Bahrain,” he said.
The prime minister and members of the Shura Council, the upper legislative body, are currently appointed by King Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa.
The election was the third since the king began his political-reform project nearly a decade ago, paving the way for Bahrain’s first elected parliament since the 1970s. While the reforms resulted in greater enfranchisement of the country’s Shi’ites — and of women, who were granted suffrage — it has led to an intra-Shia debate over whether the system is rigged to the point that participation is futile, with four opposition groups having called for an election boycott.
One common complaint of critics involves gerrymandering, which effectively ensures the majority Shi’ites — 60 percent to 70 percent of the population, estimates say — cannot win a parliamentary majority.
Hadi Al-Mosawi, a newly elected Al-Wefaq member of parliament (MP), stated that his bloc had conceded 22 districts, contesting “the only 18 which allow us to be competitive — the Shi’ite areas.” He said there were wide differences in the number of people across districts — differences that tended to favor Sunnis. “One MP can represent 16,000, and another can represent only 1,000,” he said, calling the discrepancy a violation of the “one-man, one-vote” principle.
Mr. Al-Marzooq said that despite the difficulties, Bahraini Shi’ites stood more to gain by working within the system, appearing to regret Al-Wefaq’s boycott of the 2002 elections.
“At least if you have a goalkeeper — even if he is standing against a very good opponent — at least he will defend the goal from lots of balls coming in,” he said.
“This is the situation in Bahrain. If you aren’t in the parliament, then there will be lots of [bad] laws — like what happened in 2002 without the presence of the opposition. The terrorism law, the political-societies law, the gathering law — all of the bad laws — have come from the [2002-2006] parliament, where the opposition was not there.”
“The massive participation,” Mr. Al-Marzooq said, “shows that the boycott debate is over.”
Shia Inhabitant in Parachinar/Afghanistan border blockaded

After Colonel Tausif Akhtar of the Pakistani security forces announced the move on Monday evening at a news conference in Parachinar, the main town in Kurram – Kurram tribal district, near the Afghan border-, five border crossing points- Terimangal, Spina Shaga, Khairlachi, Burki and Shahidano Dand- have been shut, with security beefed up.
“We have done this due to internal security concerns, because there have been sectarian clashes in Kurram and we do not want miscreants from outside to exploit the situation,” said Akhtar.
The blockade comes amid reports that the Turis have once again refused to allow the militants to enter Afghanistan via Kurram. But by this, the only way of entering the food, fuel and medicine to the region is blocked. Tausif Akhtar is notorious among Shia Muslim of the region; he has killed and kidnapped many Shia.
“Colonel Tausif Akhtar is a big liar. What he’s done is not to bring the security to the region, but to torture and hurt Shia in Parachinar. The government enters some amount of food to Parachinar, but it’s not enough for the people, so we have to get most of our food from Afghanistan. I believe the government blocked the border to bring Shia to their knees.” A Parachinari Shia told ABNA.
“By this, they blocked the only way to enter the food for Shia in Parachinar. After the victory of Shia over Taliban in Shaluzan and Khivas, it’s a trick by Colonel Tausif Akhtar for Shia to make them tired and bring them to their knees and do whatever he wants to, but we don’t.” Another Parachinari Shia said .
It should be mentioned that, it’s more than 4 years that all the paths to Parachinar is blocked and people have to use Afghanistan land to take to other cities of Pakistan. If the border remains blocked, by approaching the cold season in Kurram Agency, we should predict a new disaster against Shia in the region.
