Egyptian Revolution now in a Critical Stage as the US sends warships, troops to Egypt’

JNN 07 Feb 2011 : The Egyptian army has fired into the air to disperse protesters in the capital’s Liberation Square amid continuing demonstrations against the unpopular President Hosni Mubarak.

Protesters, however, on Monday formed a human shield in central Cairo in order to block the army tanks to enter the square, a Meida correspondent reported.

The anti-Mubarak protesters have vowed to continue demonstrations until the embattled president leaves office.

The demonstrators chanted anti-regime slogans at the square on the 14th day of protests calling for the ouster of Mubarak, the correspondent added.

Opposition groups on Sunday dismissed as insufficient an offer to include them in political reform plans. The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s main opposition group, says Cairo has failed to address many of its demands.

German parliamentarians have agreed to allow the out-of-favor Egyptian president into Germany for an extended health checkup as anti-Mubarak protests enter their 14th day.

Legislators from Chancellor Angela Merkel’s ruling coalition and their Free Democratic partners welcomed the idea to give President Hosni Mubarak what they called a face-saving way to leave power.

Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, however, refused to comment on the issue during a speech on a local German television.

Westerwelle said the government would not make any speculation on such crucial matters.

Since the start of the protests in troubled Egypt on January 25, which was inspired by Tunisia’s revolution, more than 300 people have lost their lives and thousands more sustained injuries during anti-government demonstrations.

Jordan, Yemen and Algeria have also been directly inspired by the wave of uprisings in the Arab world.

A senior member of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his support of the Egyptian revolution.
Kamal al-Halbavi made the remark in an interview with the state-funded BBC Persian on Sunday night.

Halbavi further expressed hope that Egypt would have “a good government, like the Iranian government, and a good president like Mr. Ahmadinejad, who is very brave.”

When asked about the Muslim Brotherhood’s opinion of Ayatollah Khamenei’s statements on Egypt’s developments, Halbavi said, “Many thanks for Imam Khamenei and all who support the revolution in Egypt.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution made reference to Egyptians’ fight for “dignity and honor” and noted that Mubarak’s biggest crime was turning Egypt into an instrument in the hands of the United States.

Meanwhile, hostility toward the Obama administration is widespread among the Egyptian protesters as they hold Washington responsible for Mubarak’s grip on power.

While a garrison belonging to Egyptian state security forces has been hit by four rocket-propelled grenades in the town of Rafah in the Sinai Desert.
Egyptian security sources said that two officers were wounded in the incident after “unknown assailants” fired the grenades at the building.

Egyptian state television blamed “extremist groups” for the Monday attack, which occurred two days after unknown attackers blew up a pipeline supplying Egyptian natural gas to Israel and Jordan.

The US is sending warships, including one with 800 troops, and other military assets to Egypt as the revolution in the North African country gains momentum.

Officials in Washington have stated that the move is to be prepared in case of an evacuation of Americans from Egypt.

Pentagon has dismissed widespread assumptions that military intervention in Cairo is being contemplated, asserting that the objective of the deployment is mainly for the evacuation of US citizens in case the situation in Egypt further deteriorates.

Separately, a US aircraft carrier has been asked to abort its mission and stay in the Mediterranean.

The move comes after reports last month that a US Army aviation regiment had been mobilized for deployment to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula to back the Multinational Force and Observers overseeing the Egypt-Israel peace treaty.

As the American can not afford to loose the Control of Egypt , and at the same time which is very lethal for Israel to carry out their nefarious designs of Greater Israel , which can not be possible without the backing of Pro American Regime in Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries , as if an Islamist Government takes over in Egypt , then it will not be only Egypt , while then American and the Zionist lobby has to pack their bags from whole of the Middle Eastern and African Blocks.
