Saudi authorities begin to arrest Shia Muslims in Al-Ahsa


Saudi security authorities have launched a new campaign against Shia citizens in Saudi provinces on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Shiite Imams. They arrested 5 Shia Muslims in al-Ahsa.

According to news agencies, al-Ahsa inhabitants said: Saudi forces arrests Shias under pretext of participation in religious ceremonies. Two Shia youths are from the village of Rumaila; Hussein Badr al-Harbi(19 years) and Mr. Hassan Mustafa (26 years).

Hassan, was arrested on charges of fixing black religious banners in the streets. He was married only three days ago.

Nazmi Bojabbarp, Hayder Abdullah and Asamail Hosseinieh were arrested on charge of performing Imam Hussain’s (a.s) birthday ceremony and another young was arrested because of distributing sweets as prophet’s Mab’ath in his workplace.

The detainees were taken to the prison for a period of one month.

The recent sectarian arrests against Shias are on the threshold of Shaban’s Idds.

In recent years in Al-Ahsa province, Saudi extremist forces have arrested a series of Shia Muslims and closed dozens of mosques and the religious councils, under the direct supervision of the governor of the region.
