Allama Fadlallah: Lebanon ready to hear US peace plan

Lebanon has become the hostage of unexpected Arab coordination after being the hostage of escalating inter-Arab dispute, senior Shiite cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah said on Friday during a sermon he gave at the Imamayn al-Hassanayn Mosque in Haret Hreik.

Fadlallah said that Lebanon had arrived at the point where it was ready to receive any news from across the ocean saying that the US had decided to make peace in the Arab region.

“Congratulations to the Lebanese for the foreign understanding on their internal affairs,” he said.

Fadlallah also tackled the Palestinian issue during his sermon and said that Israel had entered a new phase of making occupied Jerusalem fully Jewish.

He explained that the violent incidents that occurred at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday were part of Israel’s strategy to deny the mosque its holy status. Israel was reducing the importance of the mosque by letting its soldiers step inside it, Fadlallah added.

Fadlallah placed the blame on the Arab countries for the increasing Israeli violations, saying “Israel would not have been able to expand its aggressions had the Arab world and the Muslim world made one step toward stopping the Israeli invasion,” he said.
