The Pakistani religious leaders said that in Iran the effects of democracy can be seen at grass root level.
Talking to IRNA, with a reference to the upcoming presidential elections in Iran they said that the leader who will win the election will be respectable for the Pakistani nation.
Former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that the election is the internal affair of Iran but who so ever is elected president by the people of Iran will be welcomed by the people and the leadership of Pakistan.
He said that the democracy in Iran is very strong and it is because the base of Iranian system of government is Islam.
He added that after the revolution people of Iran got the government of their own choice. “People are free to vote in Iran”, he said.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that the people of Iran and Pakistan are very close to each other and their relations would not be affected by change of regimes.
He prayed for the stability of Iran and Islamic Revolution.
Religious leader Allama Jalil Naqvi expressing his views said that in Iran the effects of democracy can be seen at grass root level and the experiment of Revolution has been a great success for Iran.
He added that the elections have been regularly taking place in Iran without any difficulty.
Allama Jalil Naqvi said that people of Pakistan have always respected their relations with Iran. “We pray for the prosperity and stability of Iranian nation”.
“Iranians are a respectable nation and they have achieved this status by decades long struggle”, he said.
“Iran has tackled all the issues in a very effective manner without compromising its integrity”, he viewed.
Allama Jalil Naqvi said that Pakistan-Iran relations would improve further in future.
“There is absolutely no doubt in saying that Iran is a centre of Muslim Ummah as Iran has supported the oppressed Muslims countries in difficult times “, he said.
