Ashura commemoration in 1448 H (June 2026) was observed globally with profound reverence and distinct traditions, honoring the martyrdom of Imam Hussain at Karbala
The global observance featured varying focuses, ranging from solemn mourning processions and Majalis, to remembrance through distribution of Drinks & food to facilitate the mourners who come to attend the commemoration from near & far distances.
The Day of Ashura is marked by distinct religious and cultural observations across different Islamic traditions where the mourners weep & cry , to even beat their chest after listening the tragedies of Imam & his family members, as young as 6 month old faced by the hands of tyrant & unjust army of Yazid , who showed no mercy in martyring the Grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH, who gave a religion, which is the best in the world, rather inflicted every type of oppression, to a limit that they barricaded the River Euphratis , So Companions & Family members of Imam could not access water supply ,due to which they fought the battle thirsty for more than 72hours , which is not allowed in any society, rather is an inhumane act of Aggression.
Millions of pilgrims gathered at the Imam Hussain Shrine in Karbala, Iraq, performing large-scale mourning processions and mourners gatherings ,where Islamic Scholars gave speechs to highlight the Importance of the true path of Imam Hussain a.s , who knowingly acquired martyrdom, to uphold the path of truth & justice against a Tyrannical Regime of a Sinful, who Openly Degraded Islam & trying to induce & regularize unIslamic practices in the religion through his power & Authority of his position, which he has even acquired illegally & unlawfully through Succession, which was against the Agreement which his father did with Imam Hassan a.s.
As around the world commemoration on the Martyrdom of Imam Hussain a.s, his family members & companions were observed, In the province of Sindh , Pakistan. In the first 10 days of Muharram ul Haram 1300 Registered Muharram processions were taken out ,& around 1650 Majalis were done . Whilst unregistered No. Of majalis & processions is many folds then the registered.
Ashura Processions were even taken out in the war trodden cities of like Beirut, Lebanon, where Isarel is carrying out an war of Aggression against the innocent civilians of Southern Lebanon, because of their steadfast support of unarmed Palestinian , who have till now in only the last two years have lost around 60,000 men , women & children.
Ashura commemoration is observed around the world, and processions are taken out in the Cities like Newyork, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne,Bombay, Delhi, Madrid, etc
