Violence induced to the Peaceful Protest for the ouster Of President Hosni Mubarak

JNN 09 Feb 2011 : Pro-democracy protests in Egypt turn more violent as hundreds of protesters have been killed or wounded in the latest round of crack-down on demonstrations.

As the Egyptian revolution continues, the pro-Mubarak regime has hired thugs and assassins to injure and kill people in opposition movements in hopes to stifle the resistance.

The violence occurred in the southern Kharga city on Tuesday.

Medics said on Wednesday at least 60 people were hit by live bullets after security forces opened fire on the demonstrators.

At least five people have been killed and hundreds of others wounded in Kharga over the past 24 hours.

The death toll is expected to rise with some of the wounded in critical condition.

Clashes continued into the forteenth consecutive day on Wednesday  in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo as the protests calling for the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak turned more violent.

Supporters of Mubarak opened fire on people in Tahrir Square in central Cairo in the early hours of Thursday. This is while Mubarak has said he will not run again in the September elections, and that he has heard the people’s voice.

The violent crackdown on protests against President Hosni Mubarak has already claimed the lives of more than 300 people.

Parliament buildings blocked Meanwhile, tensions are running high in Egypt as hundreds of anti-government protesters attempt to block parliamentary buildings and other government offices in Cairo.

Anti-government protests continue for the 16th day despite unprecedented concessions made by the Egyptian government — including a pay hike for workers — to calm public anger.

Thousands of demonstrators are still camped out in Cairo’s Liberation Square as they refuse to stop their campaign to topple beleaguered Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

An increasing number of demonstrators are also turning their anger toward the US over its stance on the Egyptian revolution.

A top Iranian military official says the Egyptian people must choose a leader for their revolution immediately, before the United States can select a ruler for their country.
“If the Egyptian people do not choose their leader, the US will take power in control after offering four or five alternatives,” top military adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Brigadier General Yahya Rahim-Safavi warned on Sunday.
At present, “lack of leadership and the ambiguity of the Egyptian army’s stances” are two fundamental challenges to the revolution in Egypt, IRNA quoted him as saying.

“Faced with the popular and Islamic revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia, the US and Zionists have been strategically surprised,” he pointed out.
