Imam Khomeini’s Book ” Mesbah Al-Hedaya “comes in English


JNN 29 Jan 2011 : Mesbah Al-Hedaya is translated into English under the title of “The Lamp of Guidance into Vicegerency and Sanctity”. This book is one of the most outstanding works of Islamic mysticism that is penned by Imam Khomeini in 1930 when he was only 28.

According to the PR of Astan-e-Imam Khomeini, this book accounts for the emergence of multiplicity out of unity and roles divided among university creatures in terms of mysticism. For elaboration on these events, Imam Khomeini makes use of Sublime Hekmat and the narrative style of the Holy Quran.

Jalaleddin Ashtiani has written the foreword and Salam Judy, Arab translator, has converted this volume from Arabic into English in 135 pages. Orouj Publishing Institute, dependant on the Institute of regulation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works, has published this work in English.

The book is divided into two sections and an epilogue.

Issues discussed in the first section include prophecy, ‘velayah’ or vicegerency, and divinity which consist of an overall 56 subjects.

The second section deals with the issue of presidency and prophecy in the actual world that are discussed in three subcategories. The first category or first Mesbah (Lamp) includes 21 proofs as an introduction to its authenticity. The second category or Mesbah 2 refers to 13 more follow ups and an epilogue.

The third Mesbah is composed in 12 sections or ‘vamiz’ – ‘Vamiz’ means shining without being spread.
