Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, has said with the issuing of the Tehran Declaration, Westerners have very little to say.
Speaking to a massive crowd of Friday prayers worshippers and the faithful in Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati referred to the joint declaration by Iran, Turkey, and Brazil, and emphasized that those who accused Iran of developing nuclear weapons, have now realized that the country which is serious about nuclear disarmament, and is working to get rid of all nuclear weapons, is the Islamic republic of Iran, not the United States of America. Ayatollah Jannati added: “According to the founder of the Islamic republic, the late imam Khomeini, America is the first country to have committed a nuclear crime in the world”.
In further remarks, Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader said according to the Tehran Declaration, 1200 Kilograms of low enriched uranium will be delivered to Turkey, under the supervision of the Islamic republic of Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and that the West must supply Iran with 20 percent enriched uranium, to be used for medical applications, in exchange.
Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader added: “if the Westerners do not uphold their end of the bargain, Turkey must return all of the low-enriched uranium consignment to Iran immediately”.
Ayatollah Jannati went on to stress every country’s right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and pointed out that in the Tehran declaration Iran’s lawful right to peaceful nuclear energy has been explicitly acknowledged, and the declaration explicitly says the West does not have the right to threaten Iran, or go against the principles of the joint declaration.
