UK , UN, Nato , China , Russia against any attack on Syria

UK , UN , Nato , China oppose strike agianst SyriaJNN 03 Sept 2013 Hague : There is Strong sense of the Majority of the World against the US War Hysteria of a Possible Attack or Strike on Syria , on the Pretext of the Chemical Weapons attack on the Civilians , as till now this could not be even Proved that the forces loyal to Bashar Al Asad have Used the Chemical Weapons , as at a time when they were in the Win Win Situation , and why should they use the Chemical Weapons , to create a chaos and to put the World against them , while as the Independent source has even provided Proofs that the Saudi Government has provided the Chemical Weapons used by the terrorist on the Civilians to set a Pretext for a Strike against Syria By US.

United Kingdom

Any possibility of British involvement in a military campaign in Syria has been effectively ruled out after British lawmakers voted down the prospect in parliament, costing the U.S. the nation’s closest ally in a potential strike.

By a 285 to 272 margin British MPs rejected the government’s motion to support in principle military action against Syria. A second vote was due to be held on committing to action following the report by United Nations weapons inspectors, who are currently investigating claims that President Bashar Assad used chemical weapons on civilians.

British MPs also voted down an opposition Labor amendment calling for more information about the deployment of chemical weapons in Syria.

The Labor amendment was defeated Thursday by 332 votes to 220. “A number of Tories in the no lobby with Labor,” wrote Labor MP Jon Trickett.

The vote could be a blow to Cameron’s authority after he has advocated UK military action in the event U.S. forces deploy missiles in the Middle East.

Cameron, while advocating limited attacks against the Assad government, admitted he was not “100 percent certain” that Assad was behind a recent chemical attack, but that it was “highly likely”.

After the defeat in the parliament, Cameron admitted it was clear that Britons did not want action and said he “will act accordingly.” One MP shouted “resign” as Cameron pledged he would not order an attack.

Phillip Hammond, the UK Defense Secretary, said the U.S. “will be disappointed that Britain will not be involved”, however he did not think it would halt the process, “I don’t expect that the lack of British participation will stop any action,” he told the BBC.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel commented on the UK’s decision, explaining that a concerted international effort is the way forward in this matter.

“It is the goal of President (Barack) Obama and our government … whatever decision is taken, that it be an international collaboration and effort,” he said on a trip to the Philippines.

The vote came just before U.S. President Barack Obama met with congressional lawmakers and other key leaders to brief them on possible military action in Syria. White House deputy spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Thursday that the U.S. was prepared to “go it alone” in Syria to protect American “core national security interests.”

“The president of the United States is elected with the duty to protect the national security interests of America,” he said. “The decisions he makes about our foreign policy is with our national security interests front and center.”

United Nation

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon pleaded Wednesday for a diplomatic solution to the Syrian conflict, even as US appeared to be moving toward punitive military strikes against President Bashar Assad’s regime.

Ban said Wednesday a United Nation team investigating the alleged chemical attack must be given time to establish the facts. The investigators left their hotel Wednesday, and two anti-regime activists said the team was expected to visit an eastern suburb of the capital, Damascus, affected by the Aug. 21 strike that the group Doctors Without Borders says killed 355 people.

Syria has denied it was behind the alleged attack and challenged Washington to present proof to back up its accusations

Ban said the team already has already “gathered valuable samples and interviewed victims and witnesses.”

He also urged the United Nations Security Council, whose permanent members are bitterly divided over Syria, not to go “missing in action” as the Syria crisis deepens.

Without explicitly referring to moves apparently preparing for military action by Washington and its allies, Ban urged a peaceful resolution to Syria’s civil war.

“Here in the Peace Palace, let us say: Give peace a chance. Give diplomacy a chance. Stop fighting and start talking,” Ban said.

NATO

NATO’s secretary-general says he does not foresee a major role for the bloc regarding the crisis in Syria except deploying Patriot missiles to Turkey.

“I don’t foresee any further NATO role,” Anders Fogh Rasmussen said at a press conference on Monday. However, he said the bloc still conducts “closed consultations between allies.”

Rasmussen added that he had seen concrete evidence that made him convinced a chemical attack was carried out in Syria.

He stated that he could not discuss evidence presented to him thus far. “I do not comment on intelligence reports,” he affirmed.

EH also said he thought the Syrian government was responsible for the attack; an allegation that has been vehemently rejected by the Syrian government.

Yet he believed any subsequent strikes against the country were fully up to the discretion of the constituent states, adding that it could take time to build internal support.

UN chemical weapons inspectors left Syria on Saturday, and it will likely be three weeks before they provide the public with their analyses.

However, the US is pressing ahead with its claims of concrete evidence.

The US, backed by Israeli intelligence elements, claimed they had evidence that showed the Syrian government was responsible for a chemical attack near Damascus.

RUSSIA

Russia dismissed US documents as not convincing and called on the US to stop its military plans and follow with the political solutions and negotiations.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday that a ‘regime of secrecy’ by the West is unacceptable with regards to evidence on an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria. “If there truly is top secret information available, the veil should be lifted. This is a question of war and peace. To continue this game of secrecy is simply inappropriate,” Lavrov said in an address to students of the Moscow State University of International Relations.

Support in the ‘democratic counties’ being referred to by Rasmussen is sparse.

A BBC poll published on Monday found that 71 percent of people thought the British Parliament was right to reject military intervention in Syria, while 72 percent said they did not think the move would negatively impact UK-US relations. A further two thirds said they would not care if it did hurt the bilateral relations.

French opinion is also heavily weighted against the move, despite French President François Hollande stating in the wake of the UK Commons vote against military action that he supported a “firm” response.

Fifty-nine percent of French voters oppose involvement in an airstrike by their nation, according to IFOP poll results published on Saturday.

China

China said there should be no rush to force UN Security Council action against Syria until a probe by UN experts into suspected chemical weapons use is complete.

In remarks reported by the official Xinhua news agency on Friday, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a telephone call that China fully supported an independent and objective inspection free from outside pressure, Reuters reported.

“Before the investigation finds out what really happened, all parties should avoid prejudging the results, and certainly ought not to forcefully push for the Security Council to take action,” Wang told Ban, Xinhua reported.

Military force would not help resolve the Syrian issue and only worsen turmoil in the Middle East, Wang said.

“A political resolution is still the only way out,” he said.

Wang said in separate conversations with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby that whoever used chemical weapons had to accept responsibility.

Calm and restraint were also needed, Wang said.

“Taking unilateral action will make it hard to resolve the issue, and its legality will attract doubts,” he said.

“All sides should be urging peace and pushing for talks.”

U.S. officials acknowledged on Thursday they lacked conclusive evidence that the Syrian government ordered the August 21 poison gas attack, and some allies have warned that military action without UN Security Council authorization risks making the situation worse.

French President Francois Hollande said the British vote would not affect France’s will to act to punish the Syrian government for the apparent chemical weapons attack.

On Thursday, a meeting of the UN Security Council’s permanent members ended without reaching an agreement to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Representatives from the United States, Britain, France, Russia, and China met on Thursday afternoon at the UN headquarters in New York for the second time in two days, but the meeting broke up after less than an hour, with the ambassadors steadily walking out.

The diplomats made no comments about the Security Council’s session. British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant looked gloomy as he walked past reporters.

The previous meeting on Wednesday also abruptly ended with the Security Council deeply divided over a British-proposed draft resolution to authorize military action against Syria.

The Western members of the council have been pushing for a resolution on the use of force while Russia and China are strongly opposed to any attack on Syria.

The call for military action against Syria intensified after foreign-backed opposition forces accused the government of President Bashar al-Assad of launching a chemical attack on militant strongholds in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21.

Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Wednesday that the West is seeking to turn Syria into a second Iraq and that the issue of chemical weapons use is only a pretext for war.

On Tuesday, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said there is “no doubt” that the Syrian government used chemical weapons and that it must be held accountable, appearing to prepare the ground for the military offensive against the Arab country.

U.S. allies, notably Britain, France and Turkey, have also accused Syria of using chemical weapons.

During a news conference on Tuesday in Damascus, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem challenged the United States and its allies to present evidence that the government had used chemical weapons.

“We are hearing war drums around us. If they want to launch an attack against Syria, I think using the excuse of chemical weapons is not true at all. I challenge them to show what proof they have,” Muallem said.

He also stated that any military action against Syria would serve the interests of Israel and al-Qaeda-linked militants fighting against the Syrian government.

“The war effort led by the United States and their allies will serve the interests of Israel and secondly al-Nusra Front,” the Syrian foreign minister noted.

Russia urged the West not to jump to conclusions on the chemical weapons attack, and await the findings of a UN inspection team, which will leave the Arab country by Saturday morning.

All countries should wait for the results of the probe and “show prudence and avoid tragic mistakes” by jumping to conclusions about the incident, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on August 25.

“Our American and European partners must understand what catastrophic consequences this kind of politics would have for the region, for the Arab and Islamic world as a whole,” Lukashevich said, advising the West to avoid military action against Syria.

Al Qaeda head slams Saudi support to Egyptian Dictators

Saudi Head of Al Qaeda Ibrahim al-Rubaish (Ibrahim al-Rubaysh)JNN 1st Sept 2013 Sana : A top Saudi member of Al-Qaeda slammed King Abdullah’s support for the Egyptian army’s ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, in a video message posted online Sunday.

“One of their latest crimes is supporting the secular forces in Egypt against the government of Morsi,” Ibrahim al-Rubaish said in a statement.

Rubaish is considered the religion affairs chief of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the Yemen-based franchise of the jihadist network, formed in a 2009 merger of its Saudi and Yemeni branches.

“The son of Saud was the first to offer congratulations after the fall of the government of Morsi, and the most generous supporter, offering billions to the Tamarod government that rebelled against everything, including Allah,” he said.

Tamarod, or rebellion in Arabic, was the movement behind nationwide protests that preceded the Egypt military intervention to depose Morsi on July 3.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states welcomed Egypt’s ouster of Morsi, with Riyadh announcing an aid package of $5 billion to Egypt.

Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates followed suit, bringing the pledges made by the three oil-rich Arab states of the Gulf to $12 billion.

Analysts say Riyadh and its allies are throwing their financial and diplomatic muscle behind Egypt’s army-installed rulers because they see the political Islam espoused by Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood as a destabilising factor.

Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,

Ruler of Dubai Sh. Mohammad’s Daughter :Feel sorry for His father’s Support of the Egyptian Dictators

News websites reported that the daughter of Dubai’s ruler resented the United Arab Emirates continued support of the Egyptian army’s suppression of supporters of the deposed President Mohamed Morsi.

According to social media websites, the daughter of the ruler and Prime Minister of Dubai, Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, addressed her father saying, “Sorry father, but our money is the reason for this bloodshed “on her Facebook page.

The UAE announced its support for the isolation of Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi and their support of the Egyptian forces actions against protesters over the past few days.

Please note that the post seems to have been removed from her Facebook page since then, and the Dubai Media office claims the post was a fake.

MB supporters demanding Re Reinstatement of Morsi forcefully evacuated Hundreds Killed , Emergency Declared in Egypt

Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood supporters forced to leave the Sit In Camps

JNN 15 Aug 2013 Cairo : A state of emergency was declared on Wednesday after Egyptian security forces violently broke up sit-in camps of Muslim Brotherhood supporters in Cairo, demanding the reinstatement of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, the country’s first democratically elected leader, Officials say at least 281 have been killed nationwide.

There are conflicting casualty reports. According to the Health Ministry, at least 281 people including 43 policemen have been killed and 2,001 injured in Wednesday’s violence nationwide.

“The dead are both from police and civilians,” said the ministry’s spokesman, Hamdi Abdel Karim.

However, Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Gehad El-Haddad claimed that as many as 2,000 people had been killed and 10,000 injured in the police operation.

Both major protest camps in Cairo were taken control of by police, with the second one being seized about an hour after a curfew was announced.

The 7:00 pm-to-6:00 am curfew was imposed in major cities including Cairo, Alexandria and Suez. It will last for the next month, or until further notice.

On Wednesday morning, Egyptian police sent in armored bulldozers to break up the protest outside Rabaa al-Adawiya in eastern Cairo, where one of the Muslim Brotherhood camps is located. Police also broke up a second protest site outside the Cairo University campus in Giza in the city’s west.

Egyptian state media said at least 200 people were arrested during the security forces’ breakup of the sit-in camps. Police said protesters had weapons, including automatic firearms, ammunition and gas cylinders.

Mohammed el-Beltagy, a senior Muslim Brotherhood leader, called on the police and army troops to mutiny against their commanders and for Egyptians to take to the streets in protest against military rule.

“Oh, Egyptian people, your brothers are in the square…  Are you going to remain silent until the genocide is completed?” AP quoted him as saying. El-Beltagy is wanted by authorities to answer allegations of inciting violence.

Hours later El-Beltagy was arrested along with a number of other Muslim Brotherhood leaders, Reuters reported, citing a security source.

As the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood continued in Cairo, supporters of the movement took to the streets elsewhere in the country. Pro-Morsi demonstrations were reported in the cities of Alexandria, Aswan, Beni Suef, Kafr El-Zayat, Minya and Asyut.

In Minya, about 1,000 pro-Morsi protesters set fire to a church before being dispersed with tear gas, security sources reported.

According to Fars news agency, Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the massacre, saying, “Iran is following the bitter events in Egypt closely, disapproves of the violent actions, condemns the massacre of the population.”

Egyptian Vice President, Nobel Peace prizewinner Mohamed ElBaradei, announced his resignation in a letter to the interim president on Wednesday, AFP reported.

“It has become too difficult to continue bearing responsibility for decisions I do not agree with and whose consequences I fear,” ElBaradei said.

He said his conscience was troubled over the loss of life “particularly as I believe it could have been avoided”.

“Unfortunately those who gain from what happened today are those who call for violence and terror, the extremist groups,” he said.

A state of emergency was declared across Egypt, according to a presidential statement announced on state television on Wednesday afternoon.

The state of emergency began at 4:00 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT) on Wednesday and will last for a month.

The statement also ordered the army to help police forces to “resolve the crisis across Egypt”.

Two journalists were also killed while covering the violence on Wednesday. Mick Deane, a cameraman for the UK-based Sky News channel, and Habiba Abd Elaziz, a reporter for the UAE-based Xpress newspaper, died from gunshot wounds.

The Health Ministry has put the figure at 56 people killed, including six members of the security forces, and a further 526 people injured. At least 66 security forces were injured.

Live footage from Cairo on Wednesday morning showed smoke engulfing Nahda Square, the smaller of the two sit-ins based in Giza, amid reports of tear gas and birdshots being used on supporters of the deposed president.

By mid-morning, the Interior Ministry said security forces had “total control” over Nahda Square, and that “police forces had managed to remove most of the tents” in the area. Security forces had blocked all access to the protest camp.

In an afternoon press conference, the cabinet media adviser thanked the security forces for “exercising self-control and high-level professionalism in dispersing the sit-ins,” and held the Muslim Brotherhood responsible for “escalation and violence”.

Witnesses said that after firing tear gas into the Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in, pandemonium struck among the thousands of protesters who had set up camp there soon after Morsi was ousted by the army on July 3.

Protesters have camped in Cairo demanding the reinstatement of Morsi, who was country’s first democratically elected president and his Freedom and Justice Party was the largest political group in the now dissolved parliament.

Clashes quickly erupted between protesters and security forces on one side of the camp, with automatic fire reverberating across the square. It was not immediately clear who was shooting.

Al Jazeera’s Rawya Rageh, reporting from Cairo, said: “This battle is much bigger than what you’re seeing and the casualties. This is a fight for the future of the country, and something that will determine the course of the Egyptian revolution that has been going on for two years now.

“No one expected this to be an easy operation. It became very clear that both sides were engaged in a battle of wills and a dangerous game of brinkmanship.”

In response to the security operation, the Muslim Brotherhood urged Egyptians to take to the streets across the country to “stop a massacre”.

Meanwhile, reports emerged that at least two police stations in Cairo had been stormed, and several other government buildings were attacked.

State television reported that police were on high alert, with prisoners and ammunition being moved to secure facilities, while the Information Ministry called on people to help protect government institutions and police centers which were under attack.

International condemnation of the violence was swift.

Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul branded the crackdown as “unacceptable”.

Germany’s foreign minister, Guido Westerwelle, urged supporters of Egypt’s interim government, as well as supporters of Morsi to renounce violence.

The European Union on Wednesday called on Egypt’s military government to exercise restraint in dealing with the protesters, saying that the incoming reports of numerous deaths were “extremely worrying.”

Supporters of President Mohammed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood government, which came to power in elections after the 2011 Egyptian revolution, are demanding his reinstatement.

The Egyptian military seized power in a coup last month after massive popular protests against Morsi’s government, as the country slid into anarchy and economic chaos.

At least 250 people have died in clashes in the weeks following the military coup.

Saudi Govt UnIslamic and Corrupt , ripened for a Revolution – Prince Khalid

Khaled Farhan Al-Saud's defection statementJNN 01 Aug 2013 Riyadh : Saudi Prince Khalid Bin Farhan al-Saud has announced his defection from the royal family, referring to his “suffering” under reign of al-Saud and called on other princes to break their silence.

A Saudi opposition political activist says power struggle was one of the main reasons behind Prince Khalid Bin Farhan Al-Saud defection from the ruling royal family in Saudi Arabia.

“With pride, I announce my defection from al-Saudi family in Saudi Arabia,” he wrote in his statement, according to a report from the Tehran-based Al-Alam news channel. “This regime in Saudi Arabia does not stand by God’s rules or even [the country’s] established rules and its policies, decisions and actions are totally based on [the] personal will of its leaders,” he continued.

The ruling royal family is composed of the descendants of Muhammad bin Saud and his brothers, though the ruling faction of the family is primarily led by the descendants of Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman al-Saud.

“All that is said in Saudi Arabia about respecting law and religion rules is factitious, so that they can lie and pretend that the regime obeys Islamic rules,” he said, criticizing the royal family for considering the country its own property and silencing all voices from inside and outside the government that called for any change or reform.

The Saudi prince said everything that the pro-reform opposition said about the country’s political, economical, judiciary, social and security conditions as well as their abuse of religious values was true, the report said. “The situation is even worse than what is said in criticisms.” He called on all those who cared for the future of the country to join him and break their silence.

Mujtahid Bin Hareth Bin Hammaam, nicknamed the “Julian Assange” of Saudi Arabia for revealing information about Saudi royal family, revealed recently that Prince Khalid Bin Farhan has defected from his family and joined the opposition.

Continuing his story in his recent leaks he said, Khalid Bin Farhan was a member of the Al Saud family and three generations of his ancestors had participated in late Saudi king Abdulaziz’s wars, but none of his family members have ever been raised to an official position in the government.

“Problems first emerged when Khalid’s father, Farhan bin Abdulaziz al-Farhan was put under pressure by Prince Salman, preventing him from travelling abroad. The reason behind these pressures was Farhan al-Farhan’s refusal to let Prince Salman interfere in his family business,” @Mujtahidd wrote in his tweeter account.

Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

“Pressures and limitations disappointed Farhan al-Farhan, and finally these bans led to his complete isolation… but some of his sons and daughters broke their ban and migrated from the country. This made Salman plan for forcing them return and put their father under more pressure,” he wrote.

According to Mujtahidd, the crown prince failed to force Khalid go back to the kingdom but was able to make his sister, who was a dentist, return home. She is since under house arrest up until now.

The Saudi leaker said Prince Salman who found out about Khalid’s intentions about revealing secrets on corruptions of the royal family, tried to bribe him first and then threatened to harm his sister.

Khalid, in return, decided not to wait and continue his campaign, Mujtahidd wrote, adding that Khalid’s statements have turned to a source of serious concern for the Saudi regime.

“They fear that their divisions and problems are exposed but they pretend that they don’t care,” Mujtahidd’s tweet said.

Saudi prince Khaled Farhan Al-Saud, who announced his defection from the ruling royal family in Saudi Arabia, has published an English version of his statement on Twitter. Here is the statement:

Khaled Farhan Al-Saud's defection statement

Statement From Prince Khaled Farhan Al-Saud

I declare my defection from the regime and support of Islah Movement led by Dr Saad Al-Fagih

I have had a personal and familial bitter experience with those holding power in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This harsh personal experience at the hand of the ruling regime in the Kingdom made me try the taste of tyranny and appreciate what my countrymen experience and be one of them.

I realised how widespread is oppression, and how extensive is the practice of usurping people’s rights, disregard of the judiciary, manipulation of religion and other forms of inhumane practices.

This sour experience, led me to a list of conclusions that should be made public in order to clear my conscience.

First, I proudly declare my defection from the Saudi ruling family, for their policies, decisions and conduct are never governed by national or people’s interests but by personal whims.

Second, Those holding power in the kingdom do believe that they own the state: Land and people. They insist to run the country with this belief despite political awareness of the people and repeated calls for justice and freedom.

Third, those in power not only rejected all calls for reform put forward by prominent and respectable opposition figures and answered it with oppression and ill treatment, but they equally rejected proposed reform called for by members of the ruling family.

Fourth, the problems facing our country are not temporary and shallow, they are not merely matters of unemployment, low salaries and bad distribution of wealth and services, but are deep seated and real problems to do with widespread corruption, abuse of power and subjugation of the judicial powers by the executive in a way which oppresses the people’s aspirations. Previous experiences have proven that these troubles cannot be remedied except by comprehensive and deep rooted changes.

Fifth, those in power intentionally ignore the deteriorating situation in the country and instead indulge in lavish, squander and pomp to the degree that put national security in real danger.

Sixth, Most of what has been said by the reform and opposition groups about the political, social, economic situations and abuse of religion etc., is correct and objective.

Seventh, through my intimate knowledge of these in power I can assure everyone that they will not respond to advice and that what motivates them is their eagerness to oppress inside the country and to guard their interests outside it.

Therefore, no changes can be achieved except by applying various forms of pressure, be it political, through media campaigns, or through popular interior efforts.

Accordingly, I declare my support of all genuine reform movements eager to secure the interests of our citizens and in particular the Islah movement headed by Dr. Saad Al-Fagih.

I wish that all the silent princes who agree with me to come out in support in readiness to assume their responsibility for appease God and country.

Khalid bin Farhan bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Farhan Al-Saud
