JNN 23 Sept 2013 Tehran : A young Polish citizen converted to Islam at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad – Iran.
According to ABNA, Artu Remiko, a computer engineer, embraced Islam by saying the Shahada (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger).
The 30-year-old Remiko said he first learn about Islam through one of his friends who is a Muslim.
He said he got curious about Islam and learned more about the religion through reading books and talking to Muslims.
Remiko said after he was convinced about the truthfulness of Islam, he decided to embrace the religion and did so in Mashhad on the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
The young Polish citizen said that today is the beginning of a new path and that he will try to develop his knowledge of Islam further.
The director of the non-Iranian pilgrims department of Astan (custodianship) of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine was also present at the conversion ceremony and gifted a copy of the Holy Qur’an to the new Muslim.
