JNN 09 Sep 2011 : Turkish rights activists protest the Bahraini king’s visit, accusing his discriminate dynasty of heavy-handed crack-downs on pro-democracy demonstrators

A Turkish rights group has protested the visit by the king of Bahrain, accusing his discriminate dynasty of carrying out a brutal crackdown on demonstrations for greater rights by the Persian Gulf nation.

 The state-run Anatolia news agency says dozens of members of the pro-Islamic advocacy group Mazlumder gathered outside Bahrain’s embassy in Ankara on Sunday and burned posters of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who is paying a private visit to Turkey.

 Hundreds of people have been killed and arrested since Bahrain protests began in February inspired by other Arab uprisings.

 Turkey, NATO’s biggest Muslim member, has called for reform and an end to violence following the popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.
