JNN 05 May 2011 : A former Bahraini lawmaker and member of the country’s main opposition group has been declared dead in a hospital after being held in custody of the Manama regime.
Jawad Firouz who was a member of al-Wefaq political society, was recently arrested and detained by Bahraini police, local sources said on Thursday.
The development comes after rights group Amnesty International appealed to rulers in Manama on Wednesday to end the arrest of opposition members.
Manama regime has intensified its crackdown on the popular revolution against the decades-long ruling of al-Khalifa dynasty in the small Persian Gulf country, which has been continuing since Mid-February.
On Tuesday, the Bahraini parliament voted to extend the state of emergency for three more months, due to expire on June 15.This is the same Parliament from which 11 MP’s of Al Wefaq has already resigned , in protest against the Brutalities done by the Al Khalifa Government , Al Wefaq is the Main Opposition Party , and represent the Majority of the Bahraini Population . As even the Elections were also rigged , and even after the state Machinery worked against the Party , but could not resist the Pressure and Al Wefaq , still secured 11 seat out of 40 seat Parliament , and now the Government is using the Parliament as a rubber stamp to endorse all its decisions.
Human rights organizations have strongly criticized Saudi-backed Bahrain forces for their heavy-handed crackdown on peaceful protesters.
On March 13, Saudi-led forces were dispatched to the Persian Gulf island at Manama’s request to quell countrywide protests.
According to local sources, dozens of people have been killed and hundreds arrested so far during the government clampdown on peaceful demonstrations.
Ale Saud has reportedly sent more troops to Bahrain to help the Al Khalifa regime quash upcoming protests in the small Persian Gulf sheikhdom
Saudi tanks and armored vehicles have entered Bahrain through King Fahd bridge, which connects the country to Saudi Arabia, a witness told Press TV on Thursday.
The latest development comes as Bahraini demonstrators plan to hold mass anti-regime protests on Friday, which they have dubbed “The Day of Sacred Defense.”

Bahrain is also home to major military base of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet. while it should be noted that US and the West who propagates Human Rights and Civil Liberties around the world ,But in Bahrain the rulers have tarnished and abused Human Rights and Civil Liberties at all forums , yet there is no reaction from the US and the West , and at the same time on the other hand in the recent Revolution in Libya they have even used there forces and Air Power to De throne Muammar Gaddafi , and are supporting the Rebels who are being headed by Al Qaida Leaders , as there is total Al Qaida influence in the Libyan Rebels , who are the worst US & West enemies as shown and Projected in the World Media, But still they are being used to change the Leadership of the Libyan Regime, and on the other hand in Bahrain , where they have there Presence already , But have kept Silence on the Brutalities of the Al Khalifa regime backed by Ale Saud ,as they are their cronies, working for their Interest in the Middle Eastern and the Asian Region ,so even the International Media is not reporting the Unbiased true Picture of the Bahrain’s Population.
Nabeel Rajab of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights in an interview have condemned the deployment of Saudi force in Bahrain , and the Policy on which these forces are being run , as they are propagating sectarianism as per their regular practice in their country , where they openly practice sectarianism , due to which the Minority Shia Population , is being deprived of all their rights .
He added in the Interview that “ This is the part of the Saudi Wahhabism culture which does not existed in Bahrain, but it has been used rapidly in the past days. And we think that is because of the Saudi influence and the Wahhabi influence in our regime and in Bahraini army, and also by the participation here. Yes it look like they are planning to stay for a long time, bringing more troops to Bahrain in a situation where they don’t need to have troops and any armed men, because all the protestors since the month, they protested very peacefully, holding flowers, giving flowers to the police and army.” it’s an interference in our internal affairs and issues, which we don’t accept. We think it is an internal problem that has to be sorted out internally. Since the Saudis have come the problem has become more complicated, the crisis has become bigger, and the gap between the ruling elite and the people of Bahrain has become wider and wider. So now, month or a month and a half later than their invasion, the situation could be seen very clearly, it has deepened; the problem is becoming bigger and we don’t see, in the nearest future, any solution if they continue the same process.
While what is happening in Bahrain is completely worse. Its worse than Libya, because in Libya the dictator is killing his own people with his own army, but our dictators are not killing their people with their own army only, but they invited other armies from other oppressive regimes to share with them their bloody crackdown to kill their own people.
