On 10th Oct , A Shia Police Officer , Irfan Haider Naqvi and His Colleague Sub Inspector Shahbaz Ali were Martyred in a Targeted Attack by SSP Terrorist in the Limit of North Karachi on Wednesday
As Per the details Irfan and Shahbaz were having Tea at a Road Side Tea Shop situated Anda Mor , near Habib Mosque , North Karachi , when the Terrorist of SSP came on a Bike and spread Bullets on Both of them , giving them no time for defense , and after their quick ambush they sped away on the same Bike Unhindered.
Irfan was a Seasoned Police Officer , and had already Performed his Duties at Several Police Stations of Karachi as an Station House Officer (SHO) ,while he has taken the charge of the Sir Syed Police Station Just about 15 Days ago.while Shahbaz Ali was Posted at the same Police Station as the Station Investigation Officer (SIO) .

As per the details , Both Shahid and Shabbir were Returning after Closing their Shop in the Nazimabad Area , while they were intercepted by the terrorist of SSP at the Fly Over Bridge , Near the Shell Petrol Pump , and the firing was so intense that Both of them embraced Martyrdom on the Spot . On Oct 5 , Late in the Night Shia Man Azhar Abbas 50, and His Young son Aun Ali were targeted ,when they were going By Rickshaw to Tipu Sultan Road , while they were being followed by the Terrorist , as they were fired Near Tipu Sultan Road .

According to the Details the Bomb Blast occurred at the Bushra Village of Parachinar on Friday , and due to which Hidayat Hussain embraced Martyrdom.
On the same Day , In Karachi the Terrorist of SSP , An Off shoot of Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan Kidnapped a A Shia Anwar Hussain s/o Nawab Hussain , 55 and tortured him to Death.
According to the Details , Anwar was the Producer of PTV , who was abducted , and then was tortured and finally he was slaughtered , as his Body was recovered from the Bushes of the Remote area of Sector # 1 , Katchi Abadi , Ahsana bad, in the Limits of Sohrab Goth Police Station.
His Funeral Prayer was offered at Imam Bargah Shuhuda e Karbala Sadat Colony, F.B.Area, Karachi.
On 2nd Oct , Once Again the Terrorist of TTP attacked the Resident of Parachinar , as The House of the Gul Ali , Metrological Director , Parchinar was attacked by the Terrorist of TTP on Tuesday Night , in the Bin Yameen Area of Parachinar.
As per the details , the TTP Terrorist raided the House of Gul Ali and threw a Hand Grenade on the Residents of the House , due to which Khadim Ali father of Gul Ali was Martyred , while two other residents were critically injured , which also include a Woman of the House.
On 1st Oct , A retired brigadier, his wife and two daughters were killed by firing in Gulistan Colony on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.
Brig. Dr. Sikander Malik was the principal of the private medical college, and was residing within the medical facility’s residential area.
Unknown men entered Brigadier (rtd) Doctor Sikander Malik’s home, in the residential area of a private medical centre in Rawalpindi, and shot him in the head, along with his wife Shahida and two daughters Fatima and Zainab .
His son was also injured during the firing.
Immediate medical aid was provided to him, and his condition was reported as out of danger. However, he is still unable to give a statement.
After they were informed of the incident, the hospital administration and agency personnel arrived at the scene.
He was a dedicated Shia and was among the close friend of Shaheed Dr. Mohd. Ali Naqvi , the Founder of Imamia Students Organisation ( ISO )
On the Same day in Lahore , Another Shia Muhamad Shafiq who was Critically injured on 29th Aug’ 2013 By the firing of the Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan Terrrorist In Taunsa , District Dera Ghazi Khan , and was shifted to Intensive Care Unit of a Local Hospital , could not survive his fatal wounds and scrummed to Injuries , and embraced Martyrdom.
On 30 Sept A Trustee of a Imambargah and Masjid Aale Mohd , Hassan Jawwad s/o Mubarak Hussain , 44 was Martyred by the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan in the Limits of North Karachi.
According to The details , Jawwad was going to his Residence in his car at 5C-4 North Karachi, with his Driver Mujeeb who was also Killed by the terrorist , while it should also be noted that Jawad was himself believer of Sectarian Harmony , and have always condemned Sectarianism , as his Driver was of Sunni Sect , but the terrorist who have no Religion , even didn’t spared him and also Killed him.
On the same day , A Young Shia Man Mohamad Ali s/o Jafar Ali ,22 who was a Driver by profession who was earlier Kidnapped by the terrorist of Lashkar e Jhangvi , when he was enroute to Chilas from Gilgit on his duty .
As the Complaint was lodged with the local Police for his Disappearance , The Police did not succeeded in recovering him alive , while His tortured Dead Body was finally recovered by the Police after 15 days .
As the Police was Pressurized by the family members for the arrest of the Criminals for Murder and Kidnapping , Torture and Killing of their Beloved , The People who hired him for the Journey were also Interrogated , who kept on changing their statements , while till the filing of this Report the Police was unable to formally Press charges against any accused , as they said we are still in the Process of Investigation.
While his funeral and Burial was done at his native town Harchu , Gilgit .
On 28th Sept A Shia Cleric Molana Kashif Zaidi s/o Akber Hussain Zaidi , was Martyred by the firing of Terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan the on the Main University Road Karachi.
As per the details On Friday late in the Night as Molana Kashif was Passing from the University Road , while he reached Near Metro Store , he was targeted by the terrorist of SSP , who must be following him , as due to the firing he received Multiple Bullet wounds and due to the fatal wounds he succumb to his injuries , and embraced Martyrdom on the spot . While later his body was shifted to the Hospital for the Medico Legal formalities , after which the body was shifted to the Imambargah for his Funeral .
He was the resident of Jaffar e Tyaar Society , Malir , and was the Son of a Noted Shia Poetry Reciter ( Soz Khwan ) Akber Hussain Zaidi.
On 27th Sept , In the Limits of Balochistan , another Shia Man Muhammad Murad Lashari was targeted by the Terrorist of Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan , who due to intense firing embraced Martyrdom .
Murad was targeted in the area of Osta Muhammad , Jafarabad District of Baluchistan , while he was also the resident of the same area.
He was also a Member of the Shia Political Party Majlis e Wahdat e Muslimeen , Osta Muhammad Chapter.

Shahid was targeted on the Hussainabad Road , Mansoor Nagar , Orangi Town # 11 ½ , the terrorist fired multiple rounds targeting him , due to which he embraced Martyrdom on the spot .
On 11th Sept , The Chairman of the Masjid e Noor e Emaan Trust , Mohd. Raza was targeted by the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan ,in the night , as he was gone to the Gol Market area of Nazimabad , where he was spotted by the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan and was fired Mutiple Bullets , due to which he was critically injured .
He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital , but he could not succumb to his Bullet wounds and embraced Martyrdom .
On 3rd Sept , A shia Trader Ejaz Hussain s/o Faiz Ali, 55 Was targeted by the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan , in the Dhoraji Area .
As per the details , Ejaz was sitting at his Shop , when the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan came and Opened fire targeting him , due to which he was fatally injured , and due to the fatal nature of his wounds he embraced Martyrdom.
His body was shifted to Imambargah Shuhuda e Karbala , Sadaat Colony, F.B.Area , where his funeral Prayer was offered.
On the same day , Another Shia Man Zaheer Hussain , 45 was targeted by the terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba in the Gulistan e Johar area.
As per the details , A Ethnic Nationlist party had given a Call for a Strike , and as in the Gulistan e Johar area , it has got quite Influence , and as some members of the Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan have penetrated in these Ethnic Parties , Even as these Parties are quite Secular, but even then the elements which are Originally from the Taliban Ideology , are always working on their Previous Pattern , and are Killing Innocent Shia Man on one Pretext or the Other .
So on this day even these Black Sheeps of these Parties , were on their terrorist agenda , and giving an impression that in order to make their call for the strike successful they were on the spree of terrorizing the Innocent Pakistani Public , and in the same spree as in the Morning He went out for going to his office as he was a Government Official , could not Leave the office . The Terrorist Group fired at him , and due to the firing he was fatally injured , and embraced Martydom on the spot.

On the same Unfortunate Tuesday , Another Shia Shopkeeper Muhammad Zaman was also targeted by the Terrorist of Sipah e Sahaba Pakistan in the Manghopir area of District West
As per the details , Zaman was sitting in his shop when the terrorist of Lashkar e Jhangvi , came and Opened fire targeting him on the Monday Night ,due to which he embraced martyrdom .
He was the resident of Mughal Hazara Goth , and was a Persian Speaking Hazara , His funeral was performed in the Mughal Hazar Goth , while he was buried in the local Graveyard.

7.7 Magnitude’s Earthquake Death toll rises to 150 in Pakistan , An Island created near Gwadar Coastline
JNN 25 Sept 2013 Quetta : A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit southwestern Pakistan on Tuesday, killing hundreds in Balochistan, besides creating a new island off the Gwadar coastline in its wake, Express News reported.
Tremors were felt as far as the Indian capital New Delhi.
The Deputy Speaker Balochistan Assembly stated that at least 150 people had died from the disaster in the province.
The quake struck at 4:29 pm local time (1129 GMT) around 100 kilometres (60 miles) southwest of the city of Khuzdar in Balochistan province, at a depth of 15 kilometres.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) measured the earthquake at magnitude 7.7, recording its duration as eight seconds.
The area most affected by the quake were Awaran and Khuzdar, with over 90% of the villages/communities in Awaran were destroyed.
Pakistan Army started an emergency rescue operation immediately.
Director General ISPR, Major General Asim Bajwa tweeted that 300 soldiers are already in the area, with the number expected to rise to 1000 by tomorrow morning. Khuzdar would be used as base for the rescue effort.
Island Occurrence Near Gwadar
On the Gwadar coastline, the quake created a small island about half a mile into the sea near an area called ‘Jhanda’, according to Express News.
The newly appearing island is said to have a mountainous terrain rising up to a hundred feet. A large crowd was seen gathering at the site to see the new island.
The area of the epicentre is sparsely populated, but the USGS issued a red alert for the quake, which left aftershocks of up to 5.9 magnitude, according to the meteorological department.
Minor tremors were felt as far away as New Delhi, while office workers in the city of Ahmedabad near the border with Pakistan ran out of buildings and into the street.
Mumtaz Baluch, senior local administration official in Awaran district, 350 kilometres southwest of Quetta, told AFP: “There are reports of houses being collapsed in the district due to earthquake.”
“We have dispatched our teams to the affected area to ascertain the losses.”
In April a 7.8-magnitude quake centred in southeast Iran, close to the border with Baluchistan, killed 41 people and affected more than 12,000 on the Pakistan side of the border.
People working in offices Karachi rushed out of their building and sat on the footpaths along the roads or stood away from the buildings.
“My work table jerked a bit and again and I impulsively rushed outside,” Noor Jabeen, a 28-year woman working for an insurance company said while breathing heavily.
“It was not so intense but it was terrible,” said Owais Khan, who works for a provincial government office.
“Whenever I feel jolts it reminds me of the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir,” said Amjad Ali, 45, IT official standing on the road said.
Rescue Doctors attacked
Paramedical staff dispatched to remote areas of Awaran for providing medical aid to those injured due to the earthquake came under attack.
Our correspondent reported that the doctors came under attack from unknown assailants near Awaran. However, there were no reports of any loss of life.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan government spokesperson Jan Muhammad Buledi told a press conference in Quetta on Tuesday that they had started relief and rescue work in the earthquake affected zones.
Buledi said that the earthquake had affected six districts in the province including Awaran, Kech, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Chaghi, Gwadar.
“On the instructions of the Chief Minister, we are providing immediate relief goods and medical attention.”
In this regards, Buledi said that all other NGOs including Edhi and international organisations and local welfare organisations are being facilitated as much as possible including on the issue of law and order
He said that the death toll stood at 33, though he added that the death toll was feared to rise.

“We congratulate Sister [Obabiyi] Aishah Ajibola of the University of Lagos for emerging the winner of the world Muslimah contest,” Prof Ishaq Lakin Akintola, who teaches Islamic studies at the Lagos State University, told onIslam.net.
“We align with the contest in view of the fact that the criteria were not indecent exposure and provocative postures. The contestants were tested in the areas of recitation of the Glorious Qur’an, Islamic historiography, Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic current affairs.
In a contest held in Jakarta last Wednesday, 21-year-old Aishah emerged winner of the Muslimah World 2013.
Miss Aishah, a student at the prestigious University of Lagos, beat 19 other challengers from across the world to emerge Muslimah Queen 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia, at a competition that tested not just the Islamic appearance of the ladies but their understanding of the Qur’an and issues facing the Muslim world.
Aishah won $2,200 (N356, 000), hajj journey to Makkah and a visit to India.
Prof Akintola, who hosts an influential Islamic television program and gives comparative lecture about Islam and Christianity across Nigeria and beyond, added that Muslimah World competition offered a relief from the “immorality” of the Miss World contest.
“We equally congratulate the organizers of the contest as they used the global event to create great awareness for the rest of the world to show that Muslims have their own values and norms concerning beauty and intelligence,” the scholar said.
The scholar, who also heads the vocal non-profit organization, Muslim Right Concern (MURIC), added that the Jakarta event is a peaceful and commendable way of expressing Muslims’ outrage at the Miss World beauty pageant which he insists violates the chastity of women.
The feat has excited many Nigerian Muslims, especially young ladies who described the competition as charting a different course away from the well-known Miss World beauty pageant which is criticized across the Muslim world.
“Seeing a woman in such beautiful hijab and Islamic dress being honoured before the world is a pride for me as a Muslim woman,” Fatimah Adesokan, a 20-year-old lady nursing student, said.
Adesokan stressed that reports about Aishah’s victory excited her and confirmed her belief that hijab is a pride of the Muslim woman.
“I don’t see anything bad in it. It is a welcome development, more so that the contestants are not exposing their bodies or doing anything that is haram,” she said.
“This is a contest that tests their intellect and knowledge of Islam. Is there anything bad in our women exhibiting the beauty of hijab? I view it as a way of promoting Hijab which is our pride.”
Ruqayyah Bamigbade, 25, journalist, said she was glad Aishah has brought honor and not disgrace to the country, especially the Muslims.
“We have had instances of Muslims being accused of wanting to bomb innocent people. we have seen fellow citizens being nabbed for drug trafficking,” Bamigbade said.
“Here is a young woman who has placed the Nigerian Muslim woman on the global map of not exhibiting her nakedness but of expressing a dress sense in the Islamic way and of giving lie to the tale about Muslim women being second fiddle and who are not educated. Aishah’s intellect contradicts all that.”

JNN 9th Sept 2013 Sri Nagar : Protests have erupted in the Indian-administered Kashmir after at least five people were killed and a dozen were injured by Indian paramilitary troops, Curfew continues in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir for the third day on Monday
Security sources said the shootout took place in the Shopian district, situated about 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Srinagar, the main city in the Indian-administered Kashmir, on Saturday.
According to Indian security forces the shooting was aimed at repulsing an alleged militant attack. Witnesses and locals, however, refused the claim, saying that Indian troops opened fire unprovoked. The shooting incident left at least a dozen people injured mostly with wounds in their stomach.
Later in the day, hundreds of people took to the streets in Shopian district to voice their resentment over the shooting with police firing tear gas and using batons to disperse the crowds.
Meanwhile, at least nine people, including five policemen and two members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), sustained injuries in a grenade attack in Kashmir on Saturday.
Police said the attack happened in Pulwama town, situated about 35 kilometers (21 miles) south of Srinagar.
Locals said the attack created panic in the town. Contingents of police and CRPF rushed to the site soon after the attack, and an investigation is underway.
Curfew continues in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir for the third day on Monday after the killing of four people resulted in violence. Three of them were identified as locals. Shops and business establishments were shut and public transport remained off roads. However, private cars were seen plying in the city, official sources said. Security forces were deployed in strength in the city to maintain law and order, they said.
The CRPF, who shot at the civilians claimed that six youths had come to attack their camp. They said that they recovered pistols and grenades. Authorities are probing the reasons of the killing and the CRPF too has ordered a court of inquiry. The locals allege the youth were killed in unprovoked firing by the security forces. Both factions of Hurriyat Conference and JKLF called for a general strike today to protest the killings. JKLF chairman Yasin Malik was also detained near his Maisuma residence here as he tried to take out a protest march along with his associates. Curfew has been imposed in areas under police station Maisuma, the sources said. Separatist leaders in the valley have given out a bandh call protesting the killing.
Kashmir lies at the heart of more than 60 years of hostility between India and Pakistan. Both countries claim the region in full but each only has control over a section of the territory.
Over the past two decades, the conflict in Kashmir has left over 47,000 people dead by the official count, although other sources say the death toll could be as high as 90,000.

Any possibility of British involvement in a military campaign in Syria has been effectively ruled out after British lawmakers voted down the prospect in parliament, costing the U.S. the nation’s closest ally in a potential strike.
By a 285 to 272 margin British MPs rejected the government’s motion to support in principle military action against Syria. A second vote was due to be held on committing to action following the report by United Nations weapons inspectors, who are currently investigating claims that President Bashar Assad used chemical weapons on civilians.
British MPs also voted down an opposition Labor amendment calling for more information about the deployment of chemical weapons in Syria.
The Labor amendment was defeated Thursday by 332 votes to 220. “A number of Tories in the no lobby with Labor,” wrote Labor MP Jon Trickett.
The vote could be a blow to Cameron’s authority after he has advocated UK military action in the event U.S. forces deploy missiles in the Middle East.
Cameron, while advocating limited attacks against the Assad government, admitted he was not “100 percent certain” that Assad was behind a recent chemical attack, but that it was “highly likely”.
After the defeat in the parliament, Cameron admitted it was clear that Britons did not want action and said he “will act accordingly.” One MP shouted “resign” as Cameron pledged he would not order an attack.
Phillip Hammond, the UK Defense Secretary, said the U.S. “will be disappointed that Britain will not be involved”, however he did not think it would halt the process, “I don’t expect that the lack of British participation will stop any action,” he told the BBC.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel commented on the UK’s decision, explaining that a concerted international effort is the way forward in this matter.
“It is the goal of President (Barack) Obama and our government … whatever decision is taken, that it be an international collaboration and effort,” he said on a trip to the Philippines.
The vote came just before U.S. President Barack Obama met with congressional lawmakers and other key leaders to brief them on possible military action in Syria. White House deputy spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Thursday that the U.S. was prepared to “go it alone” in Syria to protect American “core national security interests.”
“The president of the United States is elected with the duty to protect the national security interests of America,” he said. “The decisions he makes about our foreign policy is with our national security interests front and center.”

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon pleaded Wednesday for a diplomatic solution to the Syrian conflict, even as US appeared to be moving toward punitive military strikes against President Bashar Assad’s regime.
Ban said Wednesday a United Nation team investigating the alleged chemical attack must be given time to establish the facts. The investigators left their hotel Wednesday, and two anti-regime activists said the team was expected to visit an eastern suburb of the capital, Damascus, affected by the Aug. 21 strike that the group Doctors Without Borders says killed 355 people.
Syria has denied it was behind the alleged attack and challenged Washington to present proof to back up its accusations
Ban said the team already has already “gathered valuable samples and interviewed victims and witnesses.”
He also urged the United Nations Security Council, whose permanent members are bitterly divided over Syria, not to go “missing in action” as the Syria crisis deepens.
Without explicitly referring to moves apparently preparing for military action by Washington and its allies, Ban urged a peaceful resolution to Syria’s civil war.
“Here in the Peace Palace, let us say: Give peace a chance. Give diplomacy a chance. Stop fighting and start talking,” Ban said.
NATO
NATO’s secretary-general says he does not foresee a major role for the bloc regarding the crisis in Syria except deploying Patriot missiles to Turkey.
“I don’t foresee any further NATO role,” Anders Fogh Rasmussen said at a press conference on Monday. However, he said the bloc still conducts “closed consultations between allies.”
Rasmussen added that he had seen concrete evidence that made him convinced a chemical attack was carried out in Syria.
He stated that he could not discuss evidence presented to him thus far. “I do not comment on intelligence reports,” he affirmed.
EH also said he thought the Syrian government was responsible for the attack; an allegation that has been vehemently rejected by the Syrian government.
Yet he believed any subsequent strikes against the country were fully up to the discretion of the constituent states, adding that it could take time to build internal support.
UN chemical weapons inspectors left Syria on Saturday, and it will likely be three weeks before they provide the public with their analyses.
However, the US is pressing ahead with its claims of concrete evidence.
The US, backed by Israeli intelligence elements, claimed they had evidence that showed the Syrian government was responsible for a chemical attack near Damascus.
RUSSIA
Russia dismissed US documents as not convincing and called on the US to stop its military plans and follow with the political solutions and negotiations.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday that a ‘regime of secrecy’ by the West is unacceptable with regards to evidence on an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria. “If there truly is top secret information available, the veil should be lifted. This is a question of war and peace. To continue this game of secrecy is simply inappropriate,” Lavrov said in an address to students of the Moscow State University of International Relations.
Support in the ‘democratic counties’ being referred to by Rasmussen is sparse.
A BBC poll published on Monday found that 71 percent of people thought the British Parliament was right to reject military intervention in Syria, while 72 percent said they did not think the move would negatively impact UK-US relations. A further two thirds said they would not care if it did hurt the bilateral relations.
French opinion is also heavily weighted against the move, despite French President François Hollande stating in the wake of the UK Commons vote against military action that he supported a “firm” response.
Fifty-nine percent of French voters oppose involvement in an airstrike by their nation, according to IFOP poll results published on Saturday.
China
China said there should be no rush to force UN Security Council action against Syria until a probe by UN experts into suspected chemical weapons use is complete.
In remarks reported by the official Xinhua news agency on Friday, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a telephone call that China fully supported an independent and objective inspection free from outside pressure, Reuters reported.
“Before the investigation finds out what really happened, all parties should avoid prejudging the results, and certainly ought not to forcefully push for the Security Council to take action,” Wang told Ban, Xinhua reported.
Military force would not help resolve the Syrian issue and only worsen turmoil in the Middle East, Wang said.
“A political resolution is still the only way out,” he said.
Wang said in separate conversations with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby that whoever used chemical weapons had to accept responsibility.
Calm and restraint were also needed, Wang said.
“Taking unilateral action will make it hard to resolve the issue, and its legality will attract doubts,” he said.
“All sides should be urging peace and pushing for talks.”
U.S. officials acknowledged on Thursday they lacked conclusive evidence that the Syrian government ordered the August 21 poison gas attack, and some allies have warned that military action without UN Security Council authorization risks making the situation worse.
French President Francois Hollande said the British vote would not affect France’s will to act to punish the Syrian government for the apparent chemical weapons attack.
On Thursday, a meeting of the UN Security Council’s permanent members ended without reaching an agreement to resolve the Syrian crisis.
Representatives from the United States, Britain, France, Russia, and China met on Thursday afternoon at the UN headquarters in New York for the second time in two days, but the meeting broke up after less than an hour, with the ambassadors steadily walking out.
The diplomats made no comments about the Security Council’s session. British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant looked gloomy as he walked past reporters.
The previous meeting on Wednesday also abruptly ended with the Security Council deeply divided over a British-proposed draft resolution to authorize military action against Syria.
The Western members of the council have been pushing for a resolution on the use of force while Russia and China are strongly opposed to any attack on Syria.
The call for military action against Syria intensified after foreign-backed opposition forces accused the government of President Bashar al-Assad of launching a chemical attack on militant strongholds in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21.
Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Wednesday that the West is seeking to turn Syria into a second Iraq and that the issue of chemical weapons use is only a pretext for war.
On Tuesday, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said there is “no doubt” that the Syrian government used chemical weapons and that it must be held accountable, appearing to prepare the ground for the military offensive against the Arab country.
U.S. allies, notably Britain, France and Turkey, have also accused Syria of using chemical weapons.
During a news conference on Tuesday in Damascus, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem challenged the United States and its allies to present evidence that the government had used chemical weapons.
“We are hearing war drums around us. If they want to launch an attack against Syria, I think using the excuse of chemical weapons is not true at all. I challenge them to show what proof they have,” Muallem said.
He also stated that any military action against Syria would serve the interests of Israel and al-Qaeda-linked militants fighting against the Syrian government.
“The war effort led by the United States and their allies will serve the interests of Israel and secondly al-Nusra Front,” the Syrian foreign minister noted.
Russia urged the West not to jump to conclusions on the chemical weapons attack, and await the findings of a UN inspection team, which will leave the Arab country by Saturday morning.
All countries should wait for the results of the probe and “show prudence and avoid tragic mistakes” by jumping to conclusions about the incident, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on August 25.
“Our American and European partners must understand what catastrophic consequences this kind of politics would have for the region, for the Arab and Islamic world as a whole,” Lukashevich said, advising the West to avoid military action against Syria.
